This August, FUMCAH’s mission focus is the 2024 Northern Illinois Conference Bishop’s Appeal. Every year, our bishop chooses an organization to support at our Annual Conference. This year Bishop Dan Schwerin has identified United Voices for Children as the 2024 recipient of the Bishop's Appeal, in recognition of their important ministries in Northern Illinois communities. For 45 years, United Voices for Children has advocated on behalf of children, youth, and families for its three affiliated child-serving agencies: Rosecrance, Kids Above All (formerly ChildServ), and MYSI (formerly Methodist Youth Services Inc). United Voices for Children serves as a catalyst for generating support and engaging congregations in advocacy and as a conduit for exchanging information and resources between congregations and the three agencies UVC promotes. These agencies provide essential services that address the needs of poverty, violence, and mental illness affecting children and their families.
