Our speaker, Clary Butler, will share information about unconscious bias, our underlying attitudes and stereotypes that we use to organize and categorize social information and interactions in our everyday life.

Clary Butler, Jr. is originally from Charleston, SC. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and Indiana University School of Law. Clary has studied Corporate Finance at Harvard University, Teaching and Leadership at the Citadel, English and Political Science at the University of South Carolina, Christian Leadership at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Political Philosophy at Purdue University.
Clary served as Special Assistant - Legislative Affairs for Indiana Governor Joseph Kernan, Professor at Trinity International University, Assistant Chaplain to the Indiana Pacers (of the National Basketball Association), Deputy Director of the Indiana Commission on the Social Status of Black Males, Chief of Staff for the Indiana Minority Health Coalition, Director of Community Engagement/Youth and Development at Willow Creek, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Supply Logistics and Procurement and Benefits Coordinator for the State of Indiana.
In college, Clary was a walk-on SEC Champion at Wide Receiver for the 2000 Orange Bowl Alabama Crimson Tide Football team. In the corporate world, Clary has been recognized by the 100 Black Men of Indiana as a member. As a professor/director, Clary was awarded "Most Outstanding Department" every year he served as department chair. Clary has led teams and established or revitalized community engagement in Canada, Zambia, Uganda and South Africa.
