The Illinois Brass Band will be hosting an open rehearsal on Wednesday, April 3rd at 7:30 PM in the FUMCAH sanctuary. The band will be playing and previewing the two pieces that they will perform at the North American Brass Band Association’s championships in Huntsville, AL later that week.

This is a unique opportunity to hear some of the most exciting and difficult brass band music imaginable. The band will perform their required test piece “Saint James, A New Beginning” by Philip Harper and their own choice piece, which cannot be announced because it is a blind adjudicated competition. The choice piece commissioned by the band will receive its premiere performance at the competition.

This open rehearsal allows the band to perform for an audience before the competition, which is an important step in building confidence.

The performance is free and open to family and friends. We would love to see our FUMCAH friends at our sendoff to this year’s competition.
