Solar Panels
FUMCAH’s commitment to care for the earth and the health and well-being of today’s children and future generations led us to install solar panels in 2017. We are glad that our church can be an example to our congregation and community by producing, distributing and consuming renewable energy.
The panels are expected to produce about 24,480 kWh per year in net savings to the church.
The average dollar savings is about $3,105 per year or $46,575 over 15 years.
The panels will generate about 10.6% of our energy consumption per year.
The panels are warranted for 25 years and require very little maintenance.
The projected payback is about 15 years based on current information available regarding the cost of electricity and projected increases over the next several years.
