We are called to love and serve God and our Neighbor - even during a pandemic, maybe especially during a pandemic. Here are two projects that people of all ages and stages can participate in.
The families in Faith Community Homes, the attainable housing initiative in Arlington Heights and Palatine, could use some encouragement, and you (and your family) can provide it. We have a list of family "descriptions" (names are confidential), and we are looking for FUMCAH people to write the individuals an encouraging note four times a year, or more often if one wishes. Notes will be delivered (by the Faith Community Homes staff) to both the children and the adults.
Kids Above All (formerly ChildServ) is collecting math kits for families enrolled in an early learners program. Again, all ages can help make these kits. Visit link.fumcah.com/egg for directions.
Contact Pastor Lynn (l.mikels@fumcah.com, 847-506-0852) if you would like to encourage a family or make math kits. Kudos to the UMW members who are already making cards for families and collecting egg cartons.
