Led by Devon Miller of the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center.
In an era when “fake news” and “conspiracy theories” taints our trust in the words of others, how do we have conversations with friends and family who may have different political or religious views than our own? How do we bring healing to a fractured and polarized world? At the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center, we believe the language we use plays a vital role in that healing process. In his letter to the Ephesians, the Apostle Paul encourages the church to “speak the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15). Join us for a conversation as we discuss what it means to speak the truth in love with our friends and family.
“To see a red stone is less than seeing it as jasper—
metamorphic quartz, cousin to the flint the Kiowa
carved as arrowheads. To name is to know and
remember.”
