Lynn Mikels (she/her) | Pastor of Discipleship

Lynn has served First Church in a variety of capacities since 1983 – but always involving ways that people are nurtured in discipleship.  Graduating from Garrett-Evangelical Seminary, she was ordained in 1997.  Lynn works closely with the Adult Faith Formation Committee, the Missions Committee, and the Reconciling Ministries Committee. She considers it a privilege to serve First Church, to encourage all to live into their call as Jesus' disciples, and to share ministry with so many caring and energetic people.

Lynn and her husband Mike have four adult children and two delightful granddaughters.  When not at church, you may find her exploring one of Chicago’s many intriguing museums with them or planning her next adventure.
