Who We Are

First UMC of Arlington Heights Loves Boldly because a better world is possible.

About Us

FUMCAH shares God’s bold love by welcoming everyone and working for the well-being of the most vulnerable. We believe that God is working for a world where everyone is valued and where the earth is cared for. Participating in God’s bold love is central to everything FUMCAH does.

In 2009 FUMCAH adopted the following statement: “We celebrate humanity’s diversity of age, racial and ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, special needs, socio-economic conditions, and family status. Created in the image of God, all persons are worthy of God’s love and grace and welcomed into full participation in the life of our congregation.”

Nurture in Discipleship

The aim of our ministry is to help us be better disciples, people who follow Jesus in our everyday lives.

Authentic Community

We don’t expect everyone to have it all together. Life can be difficult and messy. We try to support each other through life’s up and downs.

Equip and Empower

Everyone has gifts to offer. We want to help you find ways to use your special gifts to make the world a better place.

Facilities

Our church facilities are ADA accessible. The front entrance is wheelchair accessible and there is an elevator to the lower level and second floor. The Sanctuary includes hearing assistance devices and a hearing loop. We have single-use gender-neutral restrooms on the main floor and lower level, and newly renovated restrooms on the main level.

To serve the community, our church’s grounds, meeting rooms, chapel, Sanctuary, and Fellowship Hall are available for appropriate gatherings. To inquire about space usage, please contact the church’s business manager, Melinda Kirby.
