First United Methodist Church Preschool & We-e Care Ministries Board

The First United Methodist Preschool was formed as a ministry to the community by the First United Methodist Church’s Board of Children’s Ministry in the spring of 1973. We-e Care was formed in 1974 as another ministry to the community. The Preschool/We-e Care Ministries Board (the Board) is responsible for the setting of major policies for the two programs, establishing the budget needed to support both programs and oversee any major programmatic changes. The Board is responsible for upholding the preschool’s mission statement, which is to provide a nurturing, safe and trustworthy environment for preschool aged children, conveyed by Christian attitudes and values in which each child can grow and develop his or her own potential.

The Board is composed of at least nine members, both church members and parents; all of whom are interested in the ministry of the preschool. The majority of Board members will be members or staff of First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights. There are By-Laws that dictate the scope of the Board’s responsibilities as well as the staffing of the board. The Preschool Director reports directly to the Board.

The Board will be posting their monthly meeting Agenda. If you would like more information about what the Board is working on or who our current board members are, please contact the preschool office.
