New FUMCAH Members!

On May 21, six new members joined our church:

Jeanette Soebbing and Angelique Grady live in Romeoville with their two dogs, Roxie and Pepper. They are both teachers. Jeanette teaches music at Argo Community HS in Summit, IL and Angelique teaches psychology courses online for the University of Phoenix.

Jeanette loves puzzles, games, Illini basketball, Chicago sports teams, musical theater. Angelique loves dancing, crafts, reading, and is passionate about mental health awareness. Jeanette is already a member of the choir, and interested in Bible study, and helping with youth music and/or children’s choir. Both of us are interested in joining the handbell choir.

Sharon Olsen lives with her husband Tom and her dog Lily. She loves spending time with her family, which includes two grown children and three grandchildren, and friends, as well as reading, watching movies, and enjoying long walks with Lily. She is a retired registered nurse and is passionate about caring for others. She is already involved with United Women in Faith, and Sisters. She helped with recycled Christmas, the rummage sale, and often hosts coffee hour.

The Wood family consists of Chris, Julie, Will and Charlie plus their 8 year old Cockapoo, Barnaby! As a family, the spend a lot of time outdoors, hiking and enjoying traveling, museums and movies.

Chris spends a lot of time running his ophthalmology practice. He's been there for 25 years! He is also a member of Rotary and likes to do local and national volunteer work. He's done eye surgery in Honduras, Guatemala, and Nigeria. Locally, he loves working with the Prospect Heights Natural Resources Commission to restore natural areas in his neighborhood. Chris also loves music. He plays trombone with the Oak Park River Forest Symphony and the World Doctors Orchestra and recently played at FUMCAH.

Julie is pretty focused on raising their two sons, but is pretty passionate about architecture and art. She is shifting her previous focus as an architect to life as a full-time artist. She loves doing art and teaching others about the joy of art. She loves learning about almost anything and although introverted, has a small group of devoted friends. She is also keenly interested in nature and spends a lot of time contemplating the clouds. Julie is active in our youth ministry.

Will is a 9th grade student at Hersey High School . He is very happy that summer break is soon! He loves playing with his dog, Barnaby. He is very creative and likes to play video games. He's also a master Lego builder!
