Amy Frykholm speaking at first Kaleidoscope

  • First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights 1903 East Euclid Avenue Arlington Heights, IL, 60004 United States (map)

Amy Frykholm is the author of Wild Woman: A Footnote, The Desert, and My Quest for an Elusive Saint, and a good friend of Pastor Melissa's. She will speak at Kaleidoscope on Sunday, September 11, after worship, about her journey to uncover the truth of Mary of Egypt.

From the book jacket: "With a scholar's eye and a mystic's heart, Frykholm shares a look at an elusive and dynamic figure from history while offering insights into our own inner - and potentially rewilded -lives. As their storylines crisscross across Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Jordan and centuries, the saint the author meet at various thresholds, and both become more fully revealed as they enter the desert wild and wildly in the embrace of the sacred."
