Chris is part of the third generation of Rices in Arlington Heights. They went through the local schools, attending Poe, Cooper, and BGHS before heading to Harper and then Elmhurst College to pursue a degree in music (B.A. Music with a Business Focus).

Before committing to FUMCAH full-time, Chris had a twenty-year career as a musician, teacher, and instrument builder.
