On our first Special Parents Night Out on May 5, our goal was to provide special needs kids and their siblings with a fun evening at church while their parents had some time to spend together, trusting that their children were well cared for. Thanks to an amazing team of volunteers, that’s exactly what happened. The second Night Out is scheduled for Saturday, June 2. Drop off is from 5:30 to 6:00pm and pick up is between 8:30 and 9:00pm. Dinner will be provided from Jimmy John’s. Preregistration required through church office, 847-255-5112.
This program is possible through a grant from the United Methodist Foundation and the very caring volunteers who work with the children. Please call Pastor Lynn if you would like to work with this program. High School and college student help would be invaluable! Our goal is to establish a monthly program beginning in September 2012, staffed by rotating teams of volunteers.
